Keywords are uppercased (SELECT, FROM, WHERE…), each major clause starts a new line, AND/OR conditions are indented, and the SELECT list is split one column per line. String literals are left untouched. Keep in mind this is a readability formatter, not a SQL validator — it will tidy a broken query without fixing its logic.
