Paste lines of text and sort them A to Z, Z to A, or reverse their order. Handy for cleaning up lists, name rosters, and word collections — everything runs in your browser.
Sorting rules
Sorting is case-insensitive by default (so "banana" sorts before "Cherry"), which matches how most people expect lists to order. Numbers sort as text unless you pick numeric sort — so "10" comes before "2" in text mode, but after it in numeric mode. Empty lines are dropped by default; uncheck the box to keep them.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it remove duplicate lines?
No — sorting only reorders. For duplicates, use the Text Cleaner, which has a dedicated duplicate-removal option.
How are numbers sorted?
As text by default ("10" before "2"). Tick numeric sort to order by value instead.
