A private way to peek at a PDF
Most "online PDF viewers" upload your file to their server. This one renders locally with the pdf.js library (the same engine inside Firefox), so even a sensitive document is safe to open. Search works on the text layer — typed documents are fully searchable; scanned-image PDFs have no text layer and will report no matches (they need OCR).

Can I edit in the viewer?
No — it is read-only by design. Use Organize PDF to rearrange pages, or our other PDF tools for changes.
Why does search find nothing in my scan?
Scanned pages are pictures. OCR (planned in the next PDF batch) is what turns pictures of text into searchable text.
