The exact-size mode
Government portals, exam forms and job applications love to demand "photo under 200 KB" — and reject anything bigger. Pick To exact size, type the limit, and the compressor tries quality settings first, then gently reduces dimensions until the file fits, reporting the final size honestly (including the rare image that simply cannot go that small without becoming tiny). JPEG and WebP hit targets precisely; PNG has no quality dial, so for PNG the size comes from dimensions alone.
