Which format should you choose?
JPG — photos and anything without transparency; smallest files, no see-through areas (transparent pixels become white). PNG — logos, screenshots and graphics with transparency or crisp text; bigger files. WebP — the modern middle ground: photo-quality at noticeably smaller sizes than JPG, with transparency; supported by all current browsers. Converting a photo JPG → PNG gains nothing but megabytes; converting a logo PNG → JPG loses transparency. Match the format to the job.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can it convert SVG?
Yes — drop an SVG in and it is drawn at its declared size (or your max width). SVGs that reference external images or fonts cannot be rendered by any browser converter.
Why did my transparent image get a white background?
JPG has no transparency channel, so transparent areas are filled white. Choose PNG or WebP to keep them transparent.
